We act as a friend or neighbor to those in our congregation who need us. We offer temporary assistance and a listening ear. In doing this, we all become more connected to one another in care and compassion.

In addition to “counting beans” the Finance Committee has several responsibilities including ensuring proper financial practices are followed, preparing the budget for the next fiscal year, recommending to the Board where funds for special projects and unexpected expenses are to come from, developing financial policies and ensuring that those policies are followed. The Finance Committee meets monthly to review financial reports, project revenues, and expenses to ensure that we are financially sound and discuss any pertinent items regarding financial practices, policies and unusual expenses.

The Membership Team assists the Congregation’s growth by seeing that each visitor, potential member and new member experience a friendly introduction and welcome. New members will be afforded an opportunity to grow in understanding of the Unitarian Universalist Principles and Sources and encouraged to participate according to their talents and interests. The Membership Team also schedules events to help build and nurture fellowship within the Congregation.

The Memorial Garden is a space on our site dedicated to preserving the ashes of deceased members and friends of UUCGT. It is located beneath a large, mature oak tree embraced by both wings of our building.
The role of the Committee is three-fold:
- Maintenance and improvement of the site, an informal garden within which the interred are identified by stone markers.
- Facilitation of the procedural process of interment by the families and friends of the deceased.
- Administration of records and materials associated with the garden.

The Policy Committee serves as a clearing-house of UUCGT policies, making recommendations to the Board. The Committee develops new policies as requested by the Board while refining, revising and replacing current policies as needed. The committee also maintains the Policy Manual regulating the activities of the Board and Committees. It consists of up to 5 members, two of whom are Board members. Membership in the committee is determined by Board appointment.

Social Justice Action
The Social Justice Action Committee engages and educates UUCGT members and friends on the what, where, when and why of critical social justice issues and activities. The Committee aims to be a resource to build and grow a dialogic culture at UUCGT and in the community at large, modeling the six sources of the UU tradition. The goal is to nurture compassionate involvement in social justice in the UUCGT and beyond by:
- Direct social service (direct assistance to those in need)
- Education on social justice issues in light of our religious tradition
- Social witness (making public the convictions of UUCGT on social justice issues)
- Social action (organized efforts to influence policy and decision makers)

The Staff Resources Committee is responsible for managing human resources on behalf of the Board, and is appointed by the Board and includes the president. The minister serves as an ex-officio member. The committee is responsible for the hiring and management of staff including compensation and benefits administration. The committee maintains and revises the employee handbook, job descriptions, evaluations and makes recommendations to the Board accordingly. Because of the confidential nature of employment records, Staff Resources meetings are closed.

The Sunday Services Committee is responsible for collaborating with and supporting the minister in ensuring services effectively meet the diverse spiritual and intellectual needs of the Congregation. Clergy-led and lay-led services will be utilized to meet congregational needs. The Congregation affirms a pulpit that is free and untrammeled, and the Minister is expected to express his/her values, views, and commitments without fear or favor. The committee will support the development of high-quality religious services by:
- receiving regular training from the minister in the conduct of religious services;
- collaborating with the minister in developing and delivering regular religious services;
- meeting regularly to discuss schedules and topics;
- providing feedback to lay speakers;
- submitting, as needed, reports to the Board and a budget request to the Finance Committee
